Being Embodied

I used to think health was predicated on following guidelines that other people set. I thought that following the rules would translate to a thin body and self-esteem. What I didn’t realize was that I was building my foundation on shaky ground. Without a trusting, loving relationship with myself, peace with my body wasn’t possible.

In my own journey of healing and in working with my clients I see how many of us struggle: To take up space. To trust ourselves. To listen to our intuition. To stop abandoning ourselves. To assert our opinions. To let go of people pleasing. To stop overly accommodating. To know deep down that we are enough just as we are.

One of the definitions of embodied is “incarnated.” Incarnation to me means fully inhabiting our whole being. But, we can’t inhabit our full being If we are always looking to others to tell us what to do and who to be.

Our health is a relationship. A relationship to ourselves and to the world. Feeling at home and radiant in our skin has so much more to do with learning to love, accept, and express ourselves than it does with following the “right” diet or exercise plan.

You are worthy. You are loved. You are deserving. You are already enough, just as you are.

Sending you all my love,

Kaitlyn
